The ITA project "Stimulating the potential of technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution for inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Belarus" – to be approved

On August 28, 2020 in Brest, the international technical assistance project "Stimulating the potential of technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution for inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Belarus" has been approved. This project was developed by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus jointly with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Due to the situation with COVID-2019, the UNIDO Secretariat through the Representative Office of the Republic of Belarus to international organizations in Vienna transferred the project documents, already signed by UNIDO Director General Lee Yong. On 28 of August this year, they were signed by the First Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus Yury Chebotar.

The aim of the project is to strengthen the industrial competitiveness of the Republic of Belarus by stimulating the potential of the Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies for smart manufacturing. The project is financed by the Russian Federation in the amount of USD 1 million.

The project should support the creation of a demonstration and innovation center on the basis of the Scientific and Innovative Institution "Smart Brest", JSC "Brest Science and Technology Park" and Brest State Technological University.

The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus has begun domestic procedures for the approval of an international technical assistance project in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation.
